Weekend wrap

This weekend was a great one, fantastic weather, great racing and time with family.

I raced the downtown sanford criterium on sunday, doing the 35+ first, then the p/1/2 immediately after.

The 35 was a bit annoying, I was like kryptonite to any breakaway being marked very closely - and 2 guys got away with the field not caring - marking me and one other guy. Came down to a sprint, I got 5th overall.

The p1/2 was more fun, nice and smooth. Some strong guys in there, 3 guys got away in the move I decided NOT to cover, of course. They were gone. Then later in the race 5 or 6 guys got away with some serious firepower. The field was weak, nothing left there - so I had to make a big effort else all was lost. With 4 laps to go, i went for it to try and cross the 20 sec gap and just made it with 1 lap to go. It was a full gas effort - all out. The kind of effort that you have to do in races - but often times guys (including myself) puss out and don't do it. I knew I'd get nothing, so there really wasn't anything to lose. So I got onto the back of the group, got setup for the sprint and almost beat everyone - one guy got me so I got 5th again! It was alot of fun to race, execute tactics and have it work out ok.

Some solid training planned for this week, hard intervals, racing a great crit on saturday, then the big TT event tuesday, the 10 mile lowes TT on the lowes motor speedway. Shooting for a good ride there - and by a good ride I mean another course record. Should be intersesting.

Cheers,
pete

ClientTestimonials

"When looking for a coach, I essentially wanted two things: to be attentive/available and to possess the understanding to provide thoughtful workouts/advice according to evidence-based principles. Peter has more than fulfilled these goals. He is responsive and thoughtful, typically returning emails in a few hours and frequently following it up with further thoughts once he has digested the question fully. I have already made significant progress in just a few months, and I look forward to continuing the same in the months/years to come."
