Weekend plans - more pedaling competitions

My plans for this weekend - more pedaling in circles, hopefully faster than the other guys. What a concept, eh?

I have some business in DC (and when I say DC I mean the DC area - not actually DC) and am going to race a crit in chantilly, va saturday and another in columbia sunday.

I've done both before, nothing terribly exciting but I like riding fast in circles and attacking relentlessly. It will be more of that I hope.

Funny story about the chantilly crit from 2007. I had just won the 2007 m. nats road race, and a few days later I did the 30+ race at this crit. Feeling great, confidence is sky high from the big win. I get in a break with this other dude, we stay away, I'm just killing it every pull. I figure, no problem, I'll just smoke him in the finish. Turns out he was an amazing sprinter, trackie and such - crushes me. It was pretty funny actually - and now bill and I are good friends. Goes to show you can't underestimate someone - always get rid of those sprinters before the sprint!

Yesterday's training was fantastic, a super super day on the bike. Solid 2x20s in the early AM, then sprints at lunch. Felt great. Today just rode real easy, enjoyed the sunshine and the rest.

The countdown is officially on now - I'm thinking about nationals pretty regularly now, nad it's not that far off. Couple of hard weeks, rest week, couple more hard weeks, taper and bam, we're back in louisville. The TT is 16 miles. It has a longish hill at the start. I can't wait.

ClientTestimonials

"Pete has already pushed me to power levels I've never seen before. I'm enjoying his focused workouts, his flexibility to modify training loads when life offers it's bumps, and his refreshing words which boost my self confidence when needed the most."
