March 31st, 2009Weekend recap, upcoming plans
This past weekend Kristy and I spent saturday afternoon and sunday morning in Greenville, NC - out near ECU for a pair of crits. The race was put on by a good friend of the team, Dr. Gavin, who runs the performance lab at ECU. Great guy. The course was a technical, 1/2 mile crit, slight hill, tons of fun. One direction saturday, reverse sunday. The weather turned out dry for the M35 races, which was great. I had great legs both days, winning both events convincintly - but more exciting for me was how well my teammates and CCT athletes rode. We had a great time and Kristy took a ton of great pictures. This is what racing is all about - having fun, good friends, riding hard and great results.
Not sure if I'll do tyson's corner or rock hill next weekend, or maybe just stay home and ride. Either way the weather looks awesome so it should be great!
Oh - still loving my race wheel choice, even in windy conditions - 2009 1080 rear, 808 front. Works great, super fast.
Cheers,
Pete
